Coastwatchers Beheaded By Japanese

New Zealand coastwatchers executed by the Japanese

15 October 1942


in 1942 seventeen coast watchers and five civilians were 
captured by the japan while keeping 
watch over the coast for 24 hours for enemy ships and aircrafts. 
they were captured in the island of kiribati
and were and imprisoned on Tarawa atoll then 
all beheaded following the american raid on the island.
